Crochet Me Crazy

and now I'm home. Here's my the crochet I accomplished in that time span....

These are cami neckline cover-ups for my well-endowed daughter, Alison...Poor girl has a hard time with clothes. The black one worked out really well. It's light-weight and made out of thread. I don't know if the pink one will work. The thread is a little thicker and it's a bit heavy.



Next up is this cute little top for Alison. It is so cute on her with a tank top under it. (I made her try it on when she came to visit) It's really tight but I think it might stretch a bit. I may make another one of these in black and make it a tad bit bigger.



Lastly, I started on this baby dress yesterday. I love it. The color is a coral...not orange like it looks in the picture and the blue isn't turquoise like it looks. It's more like a seafoam blue color. I think I may make this one again too. Super easy and cute little baby dress. I could finish this up quickly and am itching to do it but I refuse to touch it again. I'm saving it for when I go back for two more 24 hours shifts on Wednesday and Thursday...actually it's one 24 hour shift and then another 30 hours before I come home because all day Friday is my normal shift. Anyway, I should be getting a nice check!



Got off and 10 am this morning and came home to my normal life. Washed everyone's clothes, washed the dishes and cooked dinner. I missed the Easter weekend with Jeff's parent's visiting. They came by twice to say Hi to me. I crocheted away and watched every show that comes on the ID Channel!

Oh, here is a picture of the pet deer that roams the neighborhood where I work. I fed him a carrot. His name is Kip.



He's not as pretty as my Gracie was. I sure do miss her....

I finished this Floral Cami pattern by Lisa Gonzalez. It's for Alison but Serenity is modeling it for me. I might make another one for Serenity. I have a lot of this same yarn I used on this one. It's a pretty easy one to make and turns out so nice over a tank top. For my own future reference, I used Petra Peria yarn with an F hook for this size. The number of rows in the body to make 9 inches was 15.

Ugh...can you say ugly?? Mine definately doesn't look like the one in the picture! I guess it's just too big.





Okay, well I guess I'll take a break from this pattern and try again later with the right yarn.

Finished all the squares for the Farm Blanket (minus sewing on all the EYES!) I plan to get started on joining the squares together today. I'm going to slip stitch them together.

had a blow out on my tire today when I was trying to leave...Luckily, I was still only about 1/4 mile from home when it happened. I heard the horrible noise...stopped and saw that my tread was flapping but my tire wasn't flat so I turned around and drove home very, very slowly. That outing was cancelled but I was able to take Alison to dance in Jeff's truck. Jeff got home around 8:30 or so and then had to go out and take my tire off. He'll get me a new tire tomorrow. He's getting me a new cell phone too! When we were at the river the other day, the dog knocked my bag in the water and my cell phone hasn't worked since. Oh well....

I think I'll be working in the garden tomorrow. Mrs. Grain has a bunch of bags of mulch I'm going to help her throw down.

I actually have a completed crochet project to show you! Alison was going to get rid of these shorts because they were too short. I decided to crochet some trim and sew it on them to make them longer!




They turned out cute!

I finished this dance shrug for Alison just in time for the cold snap that is coming through tonight. I made this one up myself. I used the ribbed stitch so that it would stretch. I may make her another one. The sleeves were supposed to be longer but it's good this way too. Try one...it's just a rectangle and then sew up the sleeves!






Alison has been having fun editing pictures a lot recently. She changes them up and and adds the words...

I finished this project yesterday I had left neglected in the basket for a few months. Alison wore this today on our "Mommy/Daughter Day". We went to the mall and ate at her favorite little chinese place.

Next, I'm committing myself to finish a baby blanket I had started before I start any new projects!

Floral Cami Pattern

It's a quick and easy project with easy to find, reasonably priced yarn!

I got the pattern for this top from the book called Amazing Crochet Lace by Doris Chan. It was an extremely easy to follow pattern.
I had some extra yarn so I started making a skirt to use up the rest of it. The skirt ended up being a little on the short side but I told Alison she could wear it as long as she wears some shorts under it.

I finished another pair of slippers.

Found this post in my drafts I had never posted....I'm done with this shirt now.

This is what I am working on at the moment. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep going with the pattern and turn it into a t-shirt dress or just put the trim on t-shirt. Plan on adding some flowers and stuff. This is thread so it takes me longer with it. The idea was inspired from Maggie Weldon's T-shirt dress patterns here: Maggie's Crochet - Kits & Patterns - Baby and Dolls Gallery

My husband must have caughter "spring fever" because he's been busy working on all kinds of projects around here! Halleluah!! LOL...He finished the deck for our above ground pool that he started last year. (2nd picture) I think it looks great and he did a super job! We re-did our front flower bed...moving stuff around, etc. We still have to add the pine bark mulch but we got rained out on that plan yesterday. Today, my hubby is cleaning the RV. We found a reasonable place to store it so he's cleaning it up before we take it over there later today. 4th pictures is the duck pen hubby made under the deck! (More on the ducks to come...) I've been repotting plants like crazy. We live walking distance to Home Depot and my son keeps bringing me trays of plants and flowers they are throwing away in the dumpster!! LOL....Yes, I've trained him well! MOST of the plants in the picture below are from the Home Depot dumpster....I'm about to have to start passing stuff on to neighbors....! Now, the precious little guys you see below are our little ducks we just got. We get them every year...this tradition was started by accident several years back. I was raised with my back gate opening into the Blanco State Park. As a child, the ducks would either nest in our yard or we would get the babies and keep them in our yard until they were big enough to survive without the cats, snakes, etc getting them. Then, when they were big enough, we'd open the gate and let them out. While visiting a few years ago in my old stomping grounds, we found two babies running around without their mama. I knew they probably wouldn't make it so we took them home with us and when they were big enough...we went back and released them again. They are still there in the park today! We had so much fun with those ducks that we've been buying them every year since then and then we take them to Blanco State Park and release them when they are big enough. They grow very, very quickly so its usually only have them about 2 months at the most. I know my pictures are a little screwy but since I haven't been able to use Hello to post pictures anymore...i haven't figured it out how to get them where I want them yet...quite frankly, I haven't had time! I have been crocheting but only have this 1st picture at the moment of a top I made for Alison. I used double strands of crochet thread on that. The picture isn't a good one and she's wearing black underneath it so you can't tell much about it. I've made two of these tops for her....I'm working on another top for her at the moment made with kitchen cotton yarn. Almost done! Then, I've also got some thread trim going at the moment to sew on a T-shirt....Will post pictures when I can get her to pose for me! This is the busy time of year for Alison's dance because they are preparing for their ballet exams. We have extra classes on Saturdays. Once that is past us, they'll start getting ready for the big ballet performance at the end up the year...This year they are performing The Lion, The Witch an the Wardrobe. Alison will be in two scenes this year since she is taking modern in addition to Ballet this year. Well, that's about it for now...gotta go help my husband!

I got my lap top back from HP yesterday! I have a brand new hard drive so I am now trying to reload all of my programs and get it set up and connected the way I like it again. I'm not completely up to speed yet but hopefully things will be back to normal soon!

I did manage to get what pictures I had on my camera loaded to my computer. I have a lot of crochet pictures I need to record. Here is a picture of a skirt and shrug I made for my daughter but it ended up too small for her. I gave it to her best friend, Hannah, who is modeling it in the picture here:
