Today is my son's birthday *AND* we have the day off today! Hmmm...he's supposed to be all grown up now, isn't he?
I turned off my alarm this morning and managed to sleep late...until 7:30! How disgusting that is that I can't sleep later than that....well, I'll work on it after the summer is over! LOL! I cleaned up the house some more today...made a pot of soup to leave on the stove for the girls when they get back from riding. Mrs. Grain had some friends over with their own horses and they were going riding and playing on horseback today. When they left, I saw about 8 horse back riders. I'm assuming they will be gone for awhile so Michael and I are going to head to town for a birthday trip. I'm going to get ingredients to make him whatever birthday treat he wants.
Here's some pictures of some more of Michael's leather. He's seems to be keeping busy with orders. I don't always get to see everything he makes but I managed to snag these pictures.

Michael has had these finished for some time now but I'm just now getting a picture of them. He made these for my sister and I have not gotten them mailed to her yet. If my sister reads this, sorry -- it's my fault it's taking so long because I haven't mailed them!

My son did this today! I think he did an amazing job!

He is still drying right now...all the pins and stuff will come out once he's dry. I'll post more pictures once he's dry and mounted on our wall! Ever since last hunting season, he has had this deer waiting to get with the Baptist pastor to show him how to mount it. He spent the whole day over there today and came home with this tonight. Pastor said he did 98% of this without any his help. I think it looks great. Michael says he can do the next one by himself. Michael has been so blessed with his creative and artistic ability!

Well, today I don't have to go anywhere today! I spent some time this morning adding some new blogs to my blog list and I took off one blog that hadn't been updated in a year. It takes me awhile to get my blog list updated with new blogs because when I see a blog I like, I click my handy "blog this" button and save it as a draft. Later, when I think about it, I go through the drafts and save them to my blog list. If any of my readers have a blog, please send me your link and I'll add you to my blog list!
I found this picture saved in my drafts... apparently I intended to share this awhile back and never did. This was something Michael carved with a utility knife...

Another interested link I found saved in my drafts...
Make Your Own Yarn Winder for Center Pull Balls
Personally, I don't know why you wouldn't just buy a yarn winder but it's still cool if you could make one! I have a yarn winder and it is well worth the money! I love it!

Michael made this knife for his sister.

Bev made the knife sheath for her. It's rabbit fur...isn't that cute? She's worn it a few times already.
Yesterday, we decided to make a trip to San Antonio. We treated ourselves to a meal out at our favorite restaurant, The Alamo Cafe, and then hit some thrift stores looking for jeans for Alison. She was in desperate need of jeans. She had 3 pair. She gets so dirty at the stables and I couldn't keep up with keeping them clean and she was having to wear dirty jeans. We found her about 6 pair of jeans after trying on about 50! We always have to try on a zillion of them at the thrift stores. All the different brands run so different in their sizes. We wanted to go to Hobby Lobby and then realized they are closed on Sundays so we went to Michael's craft store instead. I was looking for some plastic canvas hexagons for a Christmas craft Alison and I are going to do.
I've been shuffling and tripping over boxes for the past few days. Jeff went up to the storage to try to find our winter boxes. I've been working on getting some summer clothes packed up and winter clothes put in the RV. We are still missing several boxes though that Jeff hasn't been able to find yet. The storage is so packed full. It's not easy to find anything in there. We're going to have to go up there and try again.
I babysat a 7 month old baby this morning for a few hours. I'll be babysitting on Wednesday and maybe a few days next week. Mom needs to go up to the school because her other child is having some problems at school. Just helping her out by staying with the baby so she can go up there.
