Crochet Post

I am so happy to finally be able to post a couple of finished projects!
Seems like I just am not putting stuff out like I usually do...but of course, I have been working on putting this afghan together for my daughter for quite some time. I had a big box of squares....not all necessarily all made by me...that she wanted me to make her an afghan out of. She picked out her favorite squares and wanted her favorite color "pink" as the trim. Actually, I STILL have enough square left to make another afghan! Isn't that scary? I guess I'll make another one with a more neutral color as the trim this time so it won't be quite so loud! LOL .... Anyhow, It made a great project to be working on while I was so busy and we were doing all that running around. I could just take a bag of squares and my pink yarn with me wherever I went.

I do still plan on adding an edging of some type to this to finish it off completely...but this is good enough for now!!

Next is a pair of socks for Alison that I just got finished adding this trim with beads to........

Now....what to make next?

Furry Flip Flops

I finally broke down and made some of these fuzzy flip flops. I wasn't so crazy about them but Alison wanted me to make some for her. Can't get much cheaper for shoes than these so what the hey? I bought the flip flops at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 a pair and used some of my fur yarn stash I already had. They are super easy to make for sure. They will be cute for Alison. Anything furry or sparkly is right up her alley!!

Pants lengthening crochet trim

I crocheted this trim and sewed it onto the bottom of my daughter's pants to make them longer. She always outgrows her pants in the length before she outgrows them in the waist. I can get more life out of her jeans and other clothes by adding the trim. It's trendy and cute to boot!

Well, I had posted a picture of the beginning of this project a week or so ago...Here is where I stand on that project as of today.

My daughter is really crazy about this. I have more outfits to crochet for the bear. I'm trying to stay focused and finish the projects I have started before rushing onto something new, but I still ended up starting a pair of fingerless gloves tonight. The clothes for the bear are little and easy so I can whip up those for a change of pace.
I have several snowflakes and angels that I have finished but I won't take pictures of those until I am blocking/starching them. I hope I can find time to do that tomorrow in between school work, laundry, cooking and the kids, not to mention tomorrow is library day! Hey, I think I have some crochet books on hold there! I've really been trying to do better about posting on the ol' blog again. I had gotten a little bit lax on it, I know. I really like to try to get a post in right before bed every night....that was my routine before.
Speaking of bed...I'm headed there right now! Good night!

Well, my husband put the crochet cover I made for the foot stool on it tonight. Here is a picture of it. I'm going to make sides for it too but I might not get to that right away!

I started making this ugly sweater late last night out of some extra granny squares I had laying around. I am making this up using one of Alison's sweatshirts for a guide. I kinda want to see how this fits on Alison once it is finished...if it turned out well then the sky is the limit! I'm going to make a paper pattern of it and then go to town doing some with other stitches, not necessarily granny squares. This one will definately have a "retro" look to it!

Just for grins, I'll throw in a few pictures of the kids partying down this weekend at our house!

This is a little bean bag my 12 year old son made out of a sock today. I thought he did a really good job with his little embroidery type stitching on it!

What I have been working on....

Well, I got this foot stool that was pretty ugly. It opens up and you can put stuff inside it. I decide to try to come up with some kind of cover for it. I'm not finished with it yet but almost! The cover will be secured under the lid all the way around. I have a few more rounds to go on it. I ran out of the tan yarn I was using so I'm going to have to finishe it off in one of the other colors. My husband says I need to crochet something for the sides, too....I think it looks much better even with just the lid cover!

Something came over me and I decided to try my hand at "freeform" crochet. Not the greatest...but I think I can make it better as I go along on this. I have no idea what this is going to be...I'll come up with something as I progress, I'm sure.
Anyway...this is my very first "scrumble"!
