Jeff finished the stair job today! YAY! He did an awesome job! This is about a 30 foot cliff and was a big project. Jeff and Michael hauled 80 lbs bags of concrete by pulley down this cliff and mixed over 1300 pounds of concrete in buckets.

So this is the staircase that broke my husbands back - lol!

From the first landing....

From the second landing...

I put in about a 10 hour day today for the park. After the day at the visitor's center, I went along with the hay-ride to learn the ropes of doing the refreshments, then we picked up trash while the kids swam. Looks like I'll be doing the Friday night hay-rides for the rest of the season. I guess I'm getting desensitized to all the park action going on around here daily because I hardly even mention it anymore. The park was really hopping tonight. I'm about ready for the slower pace of a day at the stables tomorrow.

I'm going to bed now...I didn't get to sleep until late last night because the kids were playing around and shaking the RV too much after I went to bed! Looks like Michael didn't work hard enough on that last day on the stairs.

Today was my day off...

I washed more clothes and made hot sauce. Alison and I decided to drive out to where Daddy was working and see how the stairs are coming along. The stairs look great and they are very sturdy.

Not done yet though! And there are still railings to add too!
The kids jumped in the river a little bit before we left. We came home and did absolutely nothing! It was great!

Jeff and Michael didn't get to work yesterday so they spent the entire day doing various work in the park and into the night. They didn't get home until 11 pm last night. Those two have been having WAY too much fun picking up trash most nights. Michael has become an expert with using the trash grabber without Jeff even having to slow down much on the gator. They told me a story about last night right before they were about to come home. They pulled over on the side of the road because there was a huge stream of cars all leaving the dance and coming down the hill. They stopped to let everyone go by and Michael was pointing the trash grabber under the windshield of the gator at the cars. All the cars started slowing WAY down and going the speed limit (which is 20 mph). They thought he was pointing some kind of radar detector or something at them. The cars were backing up around the corner all driving carefully by them. They were laughing so hard they were about to fall out of the gator...

One more day to work in the visitor's center tomorrow and then I get to work my fun job at the stables.

Our Pool

Well, Jeff managed to get the pool up this weekend. It was a BIG JOB and he worked his butt off! This sucker is BIG!! He had some help though...he picked up our friend, Jerry, a Katrina survivor who needed some work. He stayed in our camper over the weekend and helped Jeff with the pool. The kids were so excited, they could hardly stand it. Now, its been filling up for the past 2 days. We let them get in it yesterday even though the water was only about 1 foot deep. The big trick was getting them in and out of it. Without the deck built yet, that was tricky! Jeff planned on taking off work yesterday and getting the deck started right away but he came down sick yesterday.
