The Gate of the Year - Ballet 2013-2014

The show went really well and Alison danced beautifully. I went sick to my stomach when my camera battery started flashing that it was going dead so I didn't really get any good pictures. I had Jeff take some after the show with his phone. I'm just praying he got some good pictures. Just waiting for him to email them to me.

Alison and Morgan found a newly dropped kid in the pasture when they were walking back from feeding the show goats this evening. Unusual for them to be walking and not in the truck but they wouldn't have found the baby if they wouldn't have happened to stumble upon it when walking. So that set off the chain of the events for the next couple of hours. We had to figure out which goat was the mama...then catch her. We got her and her baby in moved to a stall where they had to force her to lay down and let her baby nurse. We'll see if she's going to take care of it. She doesn't seem to interested. Not hoping for a bottle baby around Christmas. Schedules are already too hectic as it is.

Well, another success performance with afternoon of Alison's ballet. She did even better tonight than yesterday.

Evensong Winter Ballet 1st Performance

1st Production of Evensong was a success. We do it again this afternoon. Alison was dazzling with her smile as usual. She's becoming known for her smile when she dances. She's beginning to collect a little fan club of people that we don't know that come up to her after the show and even got a flower from a lady fromt he audience this year. I'm very proud of her.

One part just ended....the next part begins!

This end of our school/dance year came to a close with the exciting conclusion of Alison's dance performance in "Sleeping Beauty". Alison was a Godmother. It's hard to express how proud we are of her. She dances and lights up her space with her smile. She pulled off her difficult solo beautifully and we didn't even know this until after the show when her instructor told us this. She said that she has used that particular dance that Alison did many times in years past but she has always had to modify the choreography to suit the dancers ability. She said that Alison is the very first girl that she has ever not modified the original choreography for and that Alison danced the original choreography with the same speed that it was originally written. I'm also very proud of her and we were especially proud that she was selected to win the yearly scholarship for Ballet IV, given for her dedication and effort to dance! She has full scholarship for next years ballet tuition!!! YAY Alison!!!!! It was a fun and exciting night.

The pictures from top to bottom are....Alison and I, Alison and her Dad, Alison and her grandparents. The last two photos are Alison and my "other" kids...her best friend and the Stable's grandkids that I talk about a lot on here.

Alison had a pretty exciting dance class today

She had her first ever "Pas de Deux" ballet lessons. This is what partner dancing is called in ballet terms. It was fun and the girls learned a lot during this class

So many times I have tried to upload videos to my blog and it has never worked. I finally decided to really figure out what the problem is. I needed to convert the files to "avi" which is what I've done here. I hope it works!

Alison is really loving her ballet classes. She comes out talking excitedly most every time. She's really have to work hard to change some training that has been ingrained into her brain over the past 6 years. They teach a different method here and some things are a bit different. They are having a "pointe shoe party" on Sunday. That's going to be great for Alison to get to know a few of the girls a little more in a more relaxed setting.

Jeff came home a bit early today and announced he got the day off tomorrow for us to move so we went over to the RV park today and picked out our site this evening. We're moving tomorrow! I went and said "good-bye" to a few people today. At the office, they wanted to know if they could call Michael to work on days someone called in sick or they were busy. I think he could easily get a job lined up next summer working at the park.

I'm looking forward to getting on with a new season of life now that our park hosting experience is over...

Alison's Ballet Year Finale

Another year is finished for Alison's ballet. She danced well and made us all very proud. Last night Daddy brought her a HUGE bouquet of flowers. She was exhausted last night. We went and ate after her show at Chili's and then we came home and she was ready for bed. All that adrenaline rush all weekend long takes a lot out of you. I felt the sorta the same way.

I loaded my pictures and this is such a lovely picture of Alison, I am going to have prints made of this. It's perfect....

Daddy and brother were outside with flowers when she came out:

Now that exams are over they will spend the rest of the year concentrating on getting ready for the performance on June 12, 13, & 14th. They are putting on the production "Deliver Us".

Whew -- Glad that's over for another year!

This is the first year Alison has performed in all 3 shows of the end of year performance. Boy, that was tiring. We got home late Friday night and then had to get up and go straight back yesterday where we spend the entire day for the matinee and evening shows. We got home after 11 pm last night.

Today is the big day

Alison's first performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is tonight. This is her biggest night and she's very nervous because she dances two dances in tonight's show...one ballet and one modern dance. She has a little solo in her modern dance...for a few seconds she is on stage all alone. We have some really great neighbor's....3 different sets of neighbors are coming to see Alison dance tonight. We were out past 10pm again last night for another dress rehearsal and today we go early in the afternoon for another dress rehearsal before the actual show. I'll be glad when all this is over. It's a lot of work putting on a production!

Busy week...end of dance year

Alison had dress rehearsal for her end of year dance performance, "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" yesterday. We didn't get out of there until 10 pm. There will be a repeat of that schedule on Thursday. Then the actual performances are Friday night, Saturday matinee and Saturday night of which she dances in all three. We'll pretty much be living at the theatre until its over with the exception of today. Alison has a little solo in her modern dance on Friday night which is pretty exciting for her. If I had full use of computers I would post a little video clip of her dancing from rehearsal last night. Hopefully, my new laptop will be getting here soon!

Pictures from Alison's performance

We've been busy all weekend long with Alison's ballet performance, "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". Alison danced her Modern 1 dance as a Dryad and her Balleet 2 dance as a mouse.

A special day for Alison

This was a special day for Alison. She had her grade 2 ballet exam today. They work very hard all year to get ready for this. Here are a few pictures:

After her exam, we went and strolled around Old Town Spring which is an old town with lots of shops. Here is Alison posing in a butterfly chair.

The rest of the month will be very busy with fittings, rehearsals, etc getting ready for the end of the year performance. Jeff will be making some of the props.

Alison's 2006 ballet performance

I've been so busy this week finishing up Alison's dance year that I haven't had time to get on the computer, crochet, or get anything done around my house! We had all day dress rehearsals this week. She was in two performances on Saturday and I was working back stage on one of them. She enjoys it so much but I'm glad it's over for the year. We haven't been able to go on any of Jeff's business trips with him for the past several months because Alison needed to be here for all of her dance classes while she was getting ready for her ballet exams and then after those, they were getting ready for the show. Whew! Now back to life as usual!

Here is a collage of several pictures of my little princess....she's not only beautiful but she's sweet too! Excuse me while I have a proud mama moment....

float Posted by Picasa

This is the best picture of the float Alison was on in the parade that I have. Unfortunately, you can't see her in this picture because she was on the other side of the float. We couldn't go on that side of the float because they still had traffic running in that lane. Keep in mind, this float was put together in 3 days! LOL!

I've just spent some time updating all of my photo galleries so I have all of our pictures in my albums now.
