Well, I guess we're skipping Spring?

The wild flowers are blooming and it's really pretty but it sure it HOT already! Oh well, better hot than cold as far as I'm concerned. We went up to the stables for a trail ride today. Came home and moved some escapee horses.Trail rides tomorrow and Saturday...and then the day off for Easter!

Alison had an exciting day yesterday....she got to go horseback riding in Bandera yesterday. There is a state natural area with miles and miles of trails where people take their horses to ride. She got to go with Mrs. Grain and the neighbor. They trailered the three horses and took off riding for the day. Alison had a GREAT time. I'm glad she got to go...it's something she's been wanting to do for a long time.

Got another sheet added to my rag rug.

I'm cutting up another now and then I'm out of sheets so I'll have to find something else to work on until I get more.

Garden & Rag Rug

Just been doing the usual routines since my last post. Animals, horses, working in the garden and running kids around.

Here's some pictures of the progress on the garden...

It's going to look amazing when we are done with it. The black stuff is weed barrier. After we get all the weed barrier down, there will be mulch over it.

We are using the "Square Foot Gardening" method.

I started on a rag rug I am making out of old sheets.

This is the method I am using for cutting up the sheets...

This is the method I prefer for cutting up T-shirts and pillow cases.

Crochet Rag Rug

I made this rug out of some of our old t-shirts. I'm going to try a heart one next. My neighbor wants me to make her one out of some sentimental clothes she's been saving for years but she wants a heart.
