Crochet Me Crazy

We had a great time! I'm so glad we did that. It's been over 4 years or more since we have done anything like that. We left on Saturday morning and drove to San Antonio and spent the day at Fiesta Texas.









It was a tiring day! It would have been even more fun if it wasn't for the long lines. Next time, we're getting the fast pass.



The next morning we got up and headed to Port Aransas. We road the ferry over.



We stayed at this great little place...and I mean little. They only had 7 rooms. It was perfectly charming. They had these cool old bikes you could use and it was close to the beach and all the shops.





We met up with some friends. They know the owner's of the little inn we stayed at and got a us a discounted rate.







We had a fun two days on the beach....

















And we had fun walking around to all the shops....













We found lots of treasure at the beach! Look at all the live sand dollars we found! I didn't know you could find sand dollars in the water!





We even found some starfish...they break very easily...




We got home around 10'ish and were glad to see all our animals that we didn't take with us were alive and well. (Michael was feeding them for us while we were gone) Sorry our trip had to end so soon ...

Oh, and my son moved out this weekend while we were gone. I'm glad that was done while we were gone to save us all the drama.

This is the last one....no more dogs!! We now have 5 dogs! We got this little girl at the rodeo. She had been running around unclaimed at the rodeo grounds for 2 nights. She reminds me of our dog Brindy that died of heart failure years ago. She even acts a lot like her. She is super sweet and will get along good with our other dogs.






I'm not sure what kind of dog she is. She looks a lot like the rat terriers we already have but her body is a lot skinnier and has longer legs.

Wow -- I'm really glad to have behind us. It's so exciting and fun for Alison but to me it's very stressful. Praise to God for getting us through the weekend safely.

Friday night Alison was so disappointed in herself because they missed their cue to post the colors at the rodeo. The announcer did it differently than what they had practiced. She still did good though and I told her know one knew the difference. Alison won 2nd on barrels Friday night and 1st place on Saturday night. She made her entry money back plus $38...lol! On Saturday night rodeo, Alison redeemed herself. Her and Princess did an amazing job on the patriotic tribute. The parade on Saturday went off well. We were a little nervous about it because Princess was a little bit spooked at all the action but it went off without a hitch. Jeff walked along side of the parade just in case Alison got into any trouble. He didn't end up having to help Alison but had to help her friend Phoebe with her horse instead.

Alison got her learner's permit. She drove the 30 miles trip to Uvalde yesterday. Her first time on the highway so she was nervous. We switched driver's when we got to town. I wish my car wasn't a standard transmission because it's a lot more stuff to worry about but she's doing well.

So serious in concentration....

We've got a lot going on this week. Yesterday was practice day for the rodeo opening. Later on today I have to drive to Uvalde to take Alison to girls bible study. Her friend is spending the night and I suspect I'll be taking them to the river tomorrow. Wednesday, I have to drive to Uvalde again to take Alison to youth. Thursday and Friday we work at the stables. Then, Friday is rodeo...Saturday morning is rodeo parade and Saturday night rodeo again.

I just had to get a picture of our little dog, Belle, and the kitty sharing daddy's lap.



I am crocheting a little bit here and there. I am making flowers for my sister's afghan. I really should lay that afghan out and take a picture of it. Maybe I can do that today.....
