The birds outside my window

I'm so glad we moved sites. It's so much more pleasant here. We all seem to spend more time outside. It has a much more cozy feeling than where we were. There are a lot of birds. I haven't figured out why but they come right up to the windows and look inside.

Sometimes they peck and make a big racket. It is very difficult to get a good picture of these this morning because of the way the light is. I'm going to try to catch some pictures of these guys. I finally have the camera here.
This is a Woodpecker. He is very pretty but I can't seem to capture a good picture of her.

This is a Dove

Jeff went to the dentist to get his stitches out today. Something good came out of it at least...he said the dentist has some work for him to give a bid on this weekend.

We have a problem with Alison's show goat. It's not gaining weight. He won't eat the show goat feed. Jeff is going to go talk to the 4-H director today. He said to let him know once we weight the goat so he can try to help us. The goat only had gained 1 pound when we weighed him yesterday! Ugh...Alison has about $130 of her own money sunk into this goat so far. If he doesn't get up to weight, he will get sifted out and she did all this for nothing.

Michael is now getting to learn to turn wood. There are a lot of retired, winter visitors in the RV park this time of year. Very nice and friendly people for the most part. I met a gentleman who turns wood. He has his lathe set up outside his RV. He does some beautiful work and his wife quilts. She has her own little sewing room set up in her RV. He said Michael could come by and he would show him how to turn wood. So, we went by a day ago and Michael watched him make a vase. Next, I think Michael said he is going to let him turn some wood himself. Michael is very interested in this craft as well. A lathe is not an inexpensive piece of machinery. He's really been fortunate to have the opportunity to be around so many older, wise people who have the time and are willing to share their skills with him since we've been here.

We were on our way out the door

but now I'm back inside waiting for Jeff to get the truck started. We were on our way to weigh and feed Alison's goat. We're having trouble getting him to eat his feed. Jeff talked to the 4-H director last night. He told us no more hay...we are just cutting to strictly show goat feed and loading him into the truck today to weigh him. We have a little over a month. Anyway, Jeff is having trouble getting the truck started. He hasn't worked since last Tuesday. He has at least one day of Ranch work to do on Thursday for very low pay but anything is better than nothing. Jeff talked to another guy who owns a convenient store in town and has a lot of rental property and he said he may have some stuff Jeff can do coming up soon and may even replace some of the guys he's using with Jeff if Jeff can give him a set price. The workers are working by the hour and the price keeps going up. Everyone is fighting colds and sickness. Alison has dance every day this week. Her dance recital is this coming weekend.

Finished this snowman last night. He turned out O.K. but not as cute as I hoped he'd be.

It took me 10 months to do it, but I did it....

I lit the pilot on the gas stove in the RV by myself today. Holding a lighted flame to that thing just made me too nervous and I haven't been using my oven all this time. So today, I tried once...it didn't work so i gave up...then, I decided to try again a little bit later. I got it lit so I made brownies. Jeff is off somewhere today trying to find work. He forgot his phone here at the RV so I have no idea what today turned out to be for him. I'm just about finished with cooking dinner and I guess the kids and I will go ahead and eat since I'm not sure when he'll be home. The kids have been outside all day today putting up Christmas lights.

They have been experiencing all the normal frustrations of Christmas lights which I think is quite good for them! LOL

The kids put up their outside manger scene that they made last year out of Ron Paul yard signs. They don't have their crate they used as a manger at our house this time. The picture is really poor.

Not sure where to go with this post.....

Seems like there is so much going on that I don't know quite how to feel right now...Jeff is home from work today because he got sent home. He was off yesterday because he had his surgery on his tooth. So it looks like its going to be a short week on $$. The trip to the the dentist didn't go well. He is now walking around with a missing front tooth and not feeling too happy about it. On the other hand, Jeff got some problems around here that needed to be fixed today...battery, breaker box which was causing lights to flicker like a poltergeist was living with us, propane leak fixed, outside lights on the RV fixed....He just left to go caulk the storage unit for credit for this months rent. He went to ask around for jobs today and is going to go do some work a couple of different ladies in the office need done.

I'm tired of thinking about all that so I'll just stick to posting these pictures of crochet. These aren't new projects...haven't crocheted much in the last week. These are just ones I just got around to taking pictures of so I can pack them up. Trying to tidy up around here.

This is going to be a pillow someday. I will pack it up and someday when I get into a house again and have the facilities to finish it, I will.

Candy cane cover...I guess I can put this on the Christmas Tree.
