Moving again!

I'm slow posting crochet projects because I'm working on a larger project at the moment. It's a sweater. It's coming along nicely so hopefully I can make time to post some updates on that soon. I'll try to but I'm likely to have internet interuptions very soon. We have been in the RV Park for a little over a week and now we are moving again! I received a call from a letter I wrote 5 months ago inquiring about a caretaking job in exchange for 3 bedroom house. We have been out there to talk to the people twice and we are going to give it a try. As long as Jeff is able to be home from work enough to put in 10 hours a week, it should work out. They have a place for us to store our RV so we're going to move into the house this weekend and work on getting the RV out there before the month is up. We've already paid for the month at this RV park and it will help to lighten the load on the RV before we move it down this very hilly road. The view out of my window will be of Enchanted Rock!

Slow Cooker Torellini Soup

This is a new recipe I found that my family likes. I've made this quite a few times and I guess it's graduating to being added to my recipe box so I thought I'd share it here. I will also include this in my cookbook I'm making for Alison.

24 oz. spaghetti sauce
fresh spinach leaves
4 cups chicken broth (I use water and add a couple of chicken bullion cubes)
2 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. sliced mushrooms (I haved used fresh and canned both)
16 oz. frozen torellini

Combine spaghetti sauce, cream cheese, broth and mushrooms in slow cooker. Cook LOW 6 hours.
Add tortellini & boil until tender. Add spinach.

Another Hat!

I forgot to post the picture of this hat when I last posted....This hat is supposed to be for a lady at church that requested the green and the scallops...

I got some crocheting done since I was elderly sitting for so many hours! I saw this pattern for this hat and I had to make it! I made the black one first and I loved it so much, I made another one in pink. The hat pattern is designed to look like knitting but it's not. Those are slip stitches!

It's so similar to this knitted hat that Alison bought at a shop here in town.

I see these on people everywhere! I can tell you I wouldn't be selling mine because I would have to charge way more than the $15 that Alison paid for hers that was made in China. This hat is a lot more time intensive because of all the slip stitches. I can't whip this hat out as fast as a normal crocheted hat.

It snowed here today!

I drove to work with fluffy snowflakes falling down all around me. It's so pretty when it falls. It only snowed here for about 30 minutes but it all just splatted on the ground. It's really strange because it wasn't even freezing today. It snowed a lot more where Alison works. She even got to see it settle on the ground but it was only white for 15 or 20 minutes. That's enough for me! I'm good...don't need to see snow as far as I'm concerned! HA!

Well, my feet always get cold at work so I decided I need some slippers to keep my toes warm. I made these today....
