Progress on Prairie Star halted - - -
Labels: afghans 0 commentsI'm running into a problem with my Prairie Star Afghan...I ran out of the cream colored Simply Soft. This is very bad. I hope I will be able to find this color. Like I said, I have been using yarn out of my stash and I had two pretty full skeins of this and thought it would be enough but apparently not. This really stinks...I have to halt progress on this until I can find some. I hope Wal-Mart has it or else it might be a long wait! One positive thing out of it is that I have been reduced to weaving in ends on my Fisherman Afghan I had finished. We've been using it and its on the couch with all my loose ends hanging out! lol -- Not my favorite thing to do but it *does* need to be done....sigh....
My daughter never ceases to astonish me!! Alison taught herself to play Beethoven's Fur Elise on the piano yesterday! First, she figured out the right hand by ear and then she went on You-Tube to see how to add the left hand. I really am amazed...she's still practicing but it sounds so pretty. I'm going to have to video it and upload her playing it here on my blog. I just can't believe she did that! I could never do that.
Jeff & Alison were having a pretty busy day up at the stables today doing trail rides do I went up there to help 'em out. Glad to have the business...it means another day of pay for us! Hopefully, the business will hold out through the weekend. It was kinda chaotic today because we had a lot of "visitors"...just extra people everywhere. All the grandkids who were *helping* and when they help it actually slows us down...not really good on such a busy day. Then, we had some people we met in the park stop by and they stayed awhile...then Alison's friend with her dad and sister. They were still there when I left to come home and feed our horses here at our house. We have 16 riders on the board already for tomorrow so unless we get RAINED OUT, then tomorrow is starting off to be a good day as well. It is supposed to rain tonight...yes, rain...something we haven't seen much of here so either way, there's something to be positive about. I love those horses at the stables...I miss them when we don't have trail rides...
I love reading the scriptures that pop up everyday on my sidebar...sometimes they are fitting to me at the time. Well, my son typed this one up for me on my computer....he said he thought it might help us...now that was sweet. (It's a pretty long)
MATHEW 6:25-35
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
