We went to the "Not Back to School Party" with the CHA Homeschool Association support group today. Great way to kick off the new school year!

Lots of pictures....

Just took a load of pictures tonight of stuff I haven't had a chance to take pictures of yet. They are off to the box. I just filled up tub #3 of completed crochet projects. Going to have to start another box!

We're moving

Spending my time boxing up stuff to get our house ready to put on the market.
The realtor came for our walk-through on Tuesday to tell us what stuff to get
put up so the house will show better. We spent the day running around looking
at storage facilities yesterday and today we got boxes. We'll probably start
hauling to the storage tomorrow or Saturday. Fun! Fun! Fun!

These are a great way to use up those tiny balls of leftover yarn you don't know what else to do with. I was going to share the link for the free pattern but I went to go search for it and apparently, it is no longer available online. This isn't the first time I am glad that I saved a free pattern onto my computer and not just the link. I can't really find any free patterns for anything similar either.

Alison has been having fun making cards and bookmarks.

My family is getting used to my blood curtling screams....

I've been cleaning out closets.

I scream and they say "Did you find more yarn?" I thought I was so organized and I think I have it all worked and then I keep finding more and more yarn in boxes and bags that I had forgotten I even had! Mostly stuff I found at thrift stores or clearance so I buy and then shove the bag in the closet to deal with later. Apparently, I've done that more times than I remember. It's really not a terrible problem I know for those that understand, but being the organized person I am, I feel that it needs to have a place. How can I use it if I can't find it? Yesterday, my whole living room was strewn with yarn everywhere as I sorted and rewound messy balls of yarn. I've got it mostly packed away now. I've made a lot of new space for the yarn I didn't know about making all the slippers. Now, it looks like I didn't make any progress at all!
Oh well! At least the yarn closet is cleaned out now and there won't be an avalanche when you open the door.

Now, I decided to do an image search for yarn stashes just to show my family that I am not crazy. I feel much better now :)

You really need to see this.... The World’s Biggest Stash? at Mochimochi Blog

I feel my slipper interest starting to slip away now. I have some specialty yarns I found that I need to use up so so I think I'll press on a few more pairs.

Our friend brought us some vegetables from his garden

He brought us a bag of okra and 4 zucchini squash. He said they if he didn't pick them quick enough they got as big as baseball bats. I thought he might be exaggerating a bit until I saw this one! This one is not the baseball bat size but it is bigger than our dogs! The think is huge!!!! I'm making 2 loaves of zucchini bread right now that I used about 1/4 of this one to make. If it turns out good, I'm making more to freeze. Yesterday we had squash patties with dinner. Hmmmm...what else can I make with squash? I have two more really big ones to use besides this one.

Slipper Crazy

Maybe I should change the name of my blog to "Slipper Crazy" ??
Well, these are working nicely for using up my yarns that I only have partial skeins of left. Looks like I'll be able to open up a slipper store pretty soon and there's no danger of having cold feet this winter!

My camera doesn't show the true colors of these. They are much prettier and sparklier than they show on here.

These are one of my favorites
