Yesterday was a fun outing. Alison and I went to San Antonio with the Stable's family. We went to the Witte Museum to see the Mummy exhibit. We went down to the Alamo area and ate. The other kid's went to the Ripley's Haunted House downtown and Alison and I went to the old Historic Menger Hotel while they were doing that. We ate and just had a general good old time....

Jeff and Michael were moving the rest of the stuff to the house while we were doing that...They were moving in all the rest of that "stuff" that you really don't know what to do with. Obviously, stuff I don't need too bad because I've been living without it for over a month now. Today, I've been working on trying to regain some of the orderliness that I had previously achieved back. Just about the time I got some order back, more came and now I'm under it. It's going to take me a few days to get things togethe. We got the RV here tonight. I have to get it cleaned and then I plan on storing some stuff in there that I don't need in the house. That should help me out. In the meantime, I packed up my crochet out of the way for the time being. It's too messy to have all that out!

I hate to say it but.... Alison and I have really enjoyed our "girls only" household we've been living in for the past month or so. It's been so peaceful, neat and tidy and running smoothly without a hitch. All that ends on Monday....Jeff should be moved out of the other place completely and Michael is supposed to be moving into our pop-up camper here until he gets his driver's license...then, he's moving in the State Park on his own to park host. HThe other second job he had gotten ended up not being a steady job but only on an as-needed basis but this week there was a new development with him. A lot of people out here have jobs managing ranches and properties for out-of-towners than own property. He was hired by a local ranch manager to help out on a ranch. Today was his first day. He should be a very busy young man with his two jobs and the park hosting duties as well. Well, here's a few picture of my sweetheart in her new yard and her looking in my window.

And here's a picture of my other sweetheart and *her* sweetheart, Princess....

Wow, finally a Ta-Dah!

I'm really out of practice at this blogging! Here's my finished Hexagon Star Scrap Afghan!! I LOVE it! Here it is modeling on my bed but I will keep it on the couch for easy snuggling. It's all single crocheted motifs which make for a durable afghan so it's definately an afghan that can be used.

If I dare...I might even like making another one of these with a set color scheme. This one was made as a scrap afghan so no yarn needed to be purchased.

Alison and I are getting all settled into our routines here at the new place. It takes awhile to get things in order in a new place the way you like them. My husband is a genious...I could barely get an internet signal before and now I've got the internet anywhere in my house. He got an internet extender so we are able to pick up their internet. We are going to pay to upgrade their speed though because they have super slow internet. Jeff will have to have it for his job. Jeff also got my washer and dryer hooked up. The pantry was deep and dark and his genious got lights in the pantry that turn on when I open the door. I had everything I needed here but there was still stuff in the old house so I've just been going over and getting car loads every now and then. There's not a whole lot left. Jeff will be moved out here by the 1st of October. Then, he'll have more time and he can start on some projects around here at the stables.

Well, guess what....I'm CROCHETING! I have a surprise and I'll post pictures shortly of what I've been working on. It's a previous project that was put away for awhile....a big project! I'm excited because I'm almost done! I'm on a mission because I'm so, so close! Stay tuned!

My days still seem busy....

I've still been waking up early...can't seem to sleep much past 7 am even if I try. Plus, there's so many dad-blooming roosters running around everywhere out here...they won't let me sleep! Alison has been getting up pretty early too...she's trying to fit practicing barrel running on the horses into her day with everything else. She had a lot of reading to get done today and I threatened to not let her see Morgan tonight if he was able to if she didn't get it done. So she had to press through all that reading. We're reading Uncle Tom's Cabin in her history and it's not an easy book to read because of the dialect. Then, we had some people show up for a ride this afternoon so we had to saddle up for that. I cooked Chicken Parmesan Bake and "B" mad the sides and we went over and had dinner with them tonight. I had too much food cooking jst for me and Alison so we've been combining mealtimes when "B"'s husband is out of town. We keep the kids on limited contact during the week because of homework and early bedtimes but Alison and Morgan have been getting to see each other a little bit every night this week. The weeks are still going by fast. I'm still trying to get into a new routine and have time to sit down and relax and try to start crocheting again. I started on another little crochet thread project today...a star ornament. I guess it'll be a Christmas decoration. I still haven't been able to dig into any of my bigger projects. I have my Wedding Ring Afghan I need to drag out. But in the move I found my long lost Scrap star afghan I started so long ago but had to put away because I didn't have room in the RV to mess with it. It's calling my name and I actually think I'm going to get back to that one before I go back to the Wedding Ring! I spend a lot of my free time with my deer, Gracie. I feel like I have an infant sometimes with that deer. She's so attached to me and watches me like a hawk when I leave the yard and walk around the ranch doing stuff. She literally has separation anxiety when I'm not around which is why I had to move her quick. She does seem much better now that she's here with me though. I just feel really guilty if I don't sit with her....so, thank God for lap tops! I'm sitting in the yard with her now. Geez, if something ever happens to that deer, I don't know what I'm going to do! I just went to read about the breed since I really don't know how old she is. I've had her for almsot a year now and she was weaned when we got her so I'm guessing she's less than two years old. I read that adult size is reached at 6 years for females so she had a lot more growing to do! I also read the lifespan is 9-13 years, although zoo animals may reach 18-22 years of age. Hopefully, I'll have at least a good 10 or more years with her.

Well, I'm finally getting a little more settled in....

We are still not completely moved. Jeff got the piano, my dresser, and Alison's card making hutch moved over this weekend. I've been getting card loads of stuff every time I go over to the old house. It's kinda good because it gives me time to get everything sorta put away before we get more in. It's such a small place that it makes it easier. I've been putting in shelf paper in the cabinets and doing little things like that. We switched the oven out with the oven in the barn apartment this weekend because that one works better. We are going to be a lot happier here. We love the owner's so much and will do everything in our power to make sure this works out. We have good communication with them so we should be able to work out any problems that could potentially arise. Alison is happy as she can be...now she has the horse and the boy near by.

The BIG MOVE was Gracie! We got her moved over! Jeff was trying to figure out how to move her fence at our house so he could use the fencing at our new place. Finally, I said let's just move her and put her in the house...then you can tear it down and move the whole thing....it'll just be a lot easier and quicker. Well, we planned it all out, not knowing how she was going to do in the truck. She's ridden in the truck before but it's been a long time. Well, it didn't go too bad. She was moving around and panicking a little bit at first. I was sitting in the back seat with her since I'm the one she's attached to. Well, we had Michael drive my car in front of us so I would have my car. Jeff was paying attention to what was going on in the back seat with the deer and he rear-ended my car with his truck!!! My car is pretty smashed up now. Everybody is trying to get out and look at the damage and I'm just like....just go and forget about it, we have an uptight deer in the back seat! I don't want to get smashed by a hoof if she panics! So we drove on very slowly. We got her to her new home and I had to sit with her most of the day until she calmed don a bit about her new surroundings. Well, now she seems happy. Her yard here is bigger and she has more to eat. It's been fun watching her meet the horses and cats. There are a lot more deer out here. At night, I've heard her talking to other deer out there somewhere. I'm wondering if someday, I'm going to have a buck jump over the fence and end up with babies.

Well, I ran out of the thread I was using for my doily so I stopped. It would have been a lot prettier if I had been able to continue with the edging. It needs to be blocked.

I've started on a Doily!

I needed to crocheting something so I grabbed some thread and started on a doily. Unfortunately, I can't find my camera battery charger so I can't take pictures right now. It's really bothering me that I can't find that thing! Must look harder! LOL!

We had one ride this morning here at the stables. They got the arena here at the stables all tilled up and smooth so Alison went out and practiced barrels on 4different horses today...Princes, Honey, Morning Star and Levi. She wanted to try several of them out and see how they did. We have 31 horses here at the stables! Now, she can probably get somewhere with practicing now that we are living here at the stables and the arena is usable. Now, her plan is to get up early and work with them everyday. I told her she would have to be disciplined enough to get up early and do it before it gets hot and also have time to do her school work. Plus she has her ballet 3 nights a week for 1 1/2 hours a class. She's got plenty of stuff to keep her busy!

Tomorrow, will probably be a repeat of today because we have another ride in the morning.

We HAVE to get my deer moved SOON! I went to see her today and she misses me so much! I feel terrible leaving her! That' the next item on the agenda.

I'm sitting here

in our new yard drinking my coffee this morning. It's quiet and peaceful here now that the tourists are gone. It's a litle chaotic living sorta in between two places. I'm about to get Alison up and we're going back to the ranch to get her school work and her dance stuff and then we're coming back here to the stables. Jeff got most of my fence up so I can move Gracie. Now I have to get my washer and dryer dug out of storage and hooked up and the stoves switched out before I can really get the household pumping smoothly here.

Here's the little house we are moving into...we'll be making some improvements to it along the way. We'll be adding a porch....maybe even a screened porch.

We're excited to move though. Life will be a lot less stressful. "B" and I will be able to split up some of the running for the kid's activities. Last night, we were trying t decide whether to have dinner before or after the 4-H meeting when we realized we both don't have to go so I took them all to their 4-H meeting and she cooked the lasagne and had it ready when we got home. 4-H activities this year are going to be showing horses, goats and I'm hoping Jeff will have time to do the shooting sports with them. We tried for that last year but there wasn't enough time.

Oh! Other news....Michael got a 2nd part time job! He's been working at the auto parts store part time all summer. Well, he got hired across the street at a car garage paying $10/hour! Well, good...maybe his independence isn't too far off now. He's liable to learn a little about cars through all this.

Well, it's been a long time since I've posted any pictures so how about a few pictures from the past couple of weeks....

My love, Gracie, is getting big...

I've got to get that deer moved. She misses me since I've been staying over here at the stables. When I went home yesterday, she put her head on me and closed her eyes when I petted her...not something she normally does, being she is a deer.

And here at the pigs they got recently out at the ranch. Good bye little piggies! I never really got a change to get to know them....

Busy Weekend

I'm really tired....not a lot of sleep this weekend. Alison and I packed our bags and moved over to the stables this weekend. Friday night Alison, Morgan and Serenity rode in the FHA rodeo. It was a late night. We had to get up and do rides all day Saturday, although we weren't terribly busy. The Stable's and Alison and I all went to town that night to try to go to a bigger rodeo nearby that the kids wanted to watch. We didn't know what time it started and we ended up getting there too late so we ate and still ended up home fairly late. We planned to try again the next night. Turns out that Sunday was a pretty busy day at the stables doing rides. By the time we were done with our last ride, it was time to go. Alison and I ran in the house and rushed to clean up at least a little bit before we hopped in the truck to try to make the rodeo. We watched the rodeo....let the kids rides two rides at the Fair and then went to eat. Got home a little after 10 pm. This morning we slept in...I came back to the Ranch we live just today to wash some clothes and gather some more stuff. We plan on getting moved this week hopefully. There's been another drama here at the ranch where we live and I haven't even been here! It's really time to go....Alison and I are not coming back and Jeff is going to stay here for another two weeks or so.
