Our holidays

This year we were able to spend Christmas Day at home and I cooked a big feast. My oldest sister and her boyfriend came over. Ro, my sister, brought the dressing, brocolli and rice and a dessert. Her two boys came over for the day as well and we got to see her daughter and her new husband when they dropped by for a few minutes on their way to their destination. We had a really fun day. Jeff took off a few days from work and we drove to Lake D'Arbonne State Park in Louisiana where we had Christmas with his family and New Years. We make that trip every year. This was our first year to make the drive with our big RV. It took us 9 hours in the rain to get there. We had a pleasant visit with Jeff's family. We're taking off again this Wednesday to visit some friends and staying for the weekend.

Here's a few pictures of the kids on Christmas Day:

My "Big Lots" yarn

My "Big Lots" Yarn Posted by Picasa

Super soft pink fuzzy yarn Posted by Picasa

This yarn is soooooo soft. I bought plenty of it because the skeins are small and I want to make Alison a sweater out of this. I'm looking for a very, very simple sweater pattern in either plain sc or dc to use with this yarn since it is rather difficult to work with. Alison absolutely *loves* any clothing that is fuzzy and soft :)

It's really hard to tell what this yarn truly looks like in the picture. I have already made the hat and scarf set below using this yarn as accent. This set is going to be a gift for a little girl I know.

This was the first hat I made but it turned out to be too small so I guess I'll just tuck this one away for now!

This is the same yarn as the dark pink stuff but they didn't have a lot of this left. This is a really pretty color but you can't really tell in the picture. The colors don't show true here.

This is the same kind of yarn as the baby blue yarn. Alison wants me to make her a scarf and hat set just like the baby blue one with the pink.

So....that covers it for my bargain birthday yarn. Yes, I do have a wonderful hubby that puts up with my yarn obsession! :)
