Hats

So I got Alison to model the black and blue hat tonight when she came over to bring me my dinner at work....

'

I actually really like that hat pattern. I will be making that one again!

I made this hat today....The is called the Mara Hat. It uses tunisian crochet for the hat band. That was fun for a change. I liked this pattern alot as well.

Long work weekend again....lots of projects!

I finally jumped on the mermaid tail bandwagon! I got these two baby sized cocoons finished. I really wanted to get pictures of them using the baby as a model but I haven't been able to get over there.

The rest of these are things I have made between yesterday and today while I'm at my long weekend at work...

This is the same pattern baby hat in three different sizes...infant, toddler and child. I plan on having flowers pins in different colors people can buy to add to these.

I really liked this hat pattern. It's a free pattern online called "Picot Friendly Hat"...

Lastly, I have this Tassel hood in a child size. I made an adult version of this too but oops I guess I didn't take a picture of that one. I still have to make a pompom for this one but I ran out of the pink yarn here at work. I'll have to add that at home where I have more of this yarn...

So anyway...all that and I have another night, day and another 1/2 a day here until I get to go home! I brought a whole suitcase of yarn with me! LOL

I brought these hats over to get them modeled by my granddaughter's today. Luckily I have a grandchild in every size for sizing...an infant, toddler, and a year old!

More crochet

Well, here are a couple of hats I had taken pictures of that I had finished....

and another pair of boot cuffs....

I have more stuff made up to take pictures of but I don't have a camera to take pictures with at the moment. My daughter and husband took it with them on their trip!

I made two pairs of slippers last night and today at work I made two cupcake hats...one in a baby size and one in a toddler size. Those should be popular sellers.

Getting ready for craft booth

I have been on a roll. I'm going to try to do a craft booth so I'm getting ready and getting serious about it. I'm making up a lot of small projects that take less time whipped out first to get some inventory built up. I'm going to put some effort into displaying items because I think it will help.

I'm making up a lot of these earwarmers...This is a free pattern you can find here: Ravelry: Everly Head Wrap pattern by Mamachee

I chose this pattern because it's quick to make and it's also pretty and not just a boring rectangle shaped earwarmer. I'm up to 15 of them made now since I took this picture....

I'm going to get my son to build me something that I can hang these earwarmers from that will make a nice display.

The ear warmer doesn't need a flower but Alison said she thought it would be cute with a flower so I decided I would make the flower pins and sell them separately. If someone wants a flower for their earwarmer, they can add it or not. I printed up these cards on card stock to pin the flowers too.

I'll work on boots cuffs and hats next. I have some ideas on how to display those as well but more about that later.

I have a couple of other pictures of some projects I've finished but I'll post about that later...I'm tired at the moment so I think I'll stop here.

Well Alison and I went to San Antonio on Tuesday and I knocked myself out at Hobby Lobby buying yarn....seriously, I went crazy. I took samples of all the colors that I already had on hand and I bought one of every color that I didn't have. It's hard living an hour away from a yarn store! I also bought a couple of extra balls of some chunky yarn to make this set for Alison to wear while she's in Illinois next week....

Lastly, here are the pictures of the other small projects that I made over the last long work weekend...

Boot Cuffs

Well, I'm doing good...not only did I finish crocheting 3 pairs of boot cuffs this weekend but I also TOOK PICTURES! Yay for me!

The one below is a Basketweave Boot Cuff pattern you can find over at ELK Studios here: Basketweave Boot Cuff

These are my favorite. I love the bow tassells. I came up with that idea myself. Anyway, they look black and white in the picture but they are actually navy blue and white.

Finally taking my final picture of this monstrous afghan! It is huge! The picture is taken on a queen size bed. It was so fun making this! Pattern was perfectly written. I will be making more of his patterns for sure. This will be a gift for my son.

Spent the day grocery shopping and doing errands yesterday with Alison. She's working today and I have been working on getting my house cleaned! It's been awhile and it's driving me nuts!

I'm trying to get my act together and get organized. I had my yarn in the spare bedroom but Jeff keeps filling the room up with more and more stuff. And Alison also uses it for her scrapbooking room. Even though my yarn is IN there I don't have room to dig through it to see what I have when planning projects...which is what I'm doing now. I worked on that afghan for so long...now I'm trying to come up with some projects so I have something to do this weekend at work. I moved all of my crochet yarn bins to my bedroom. It looks crappy but at least I can get to it now. So the planning begins...I've got a couple of crochet boot cuff patterns I'm going to try out...the Aislinn Boot Cuffs by Charmed by Ewe and Bipolar(Reversible) Boot Cuffs by Regina Graham. Also, I'm going to go for the Everly Head Wrap by Mamachee. Now to pick out my colors and pack them up to take with me. I've also got a Chevron Baby Car Seat Canopy on my hook right now but that one is a work in progress.

Here's a Cable Earwarmer Pattern I made last weekend....

This is a free pattern and you can find it here: By Jenni Designs: Crochet Women's Cable Ear Warmer Free Pattern

I'm going to take a picture of my Panes of Change Afghan this weekend for sure!! I'm completely finished with it and I've been carrying it around in my car but I never took a final picture! I really want to make another one of the Frank O'Randle afghans but I haven't gotten around to planning that out yet. No doubt it will involve yarn buying...and of course, who I make it for depends on my color schemes.

Panes of Change

This is a pattern by Frank O'Randle called "Panes of Change" and boy what a project it has been! I'm making this one for my son. LOTS of ends to weave in because there are sooo many color changes. I'm limited to where I can work on it because sometimes I have a spider webs of yarn skeins all attached at the same time. It's taken me awhile to get this far because I usually just bring it to my long shifts at work when I know I'll have a lot of time to work on it. I haven't really worked on this one at home at all.
It's huge...this picture was taken on a queen size bed and I'm still not finished with it. I'm very close though.

Salsa

So today I had the day to myself so I told myself I NEED to do something with all these tomatoes!! We got just a little bit more than we can eat....

So I made and canned some salsa...

I got 7 jars and used all but two of those tomatoes.

My chickens are fun but they still aren't laying eggs and I don't know why!

I'm so close to being done with the Frank O'Randle Panes of Change afghan. I'll try to get some pictures soon. I'm gonna miss that project...it's my long day and weekend project when I'm working. Well, there's always the table cloth.

Well, other than that...no news is good news!

Abundance!

Peaches, plums, apricots, zucchini, yellow squash. This is actually a small batch here. The apricots are already gone....they all ripened at once and we lost the ones we couldn't eat. Now the peach trees are brimming. I am about to make an attempt to do my first ever batch of canning this weekend! Something I've always wanted to learn...well, I'm going to give it a try this weekend! I can't bear to lose all these peaches! I'm going to freeze some and I'm going to make preserves. I hope the plums give me time to get this down before they all come in. The plums are ripening slower. Our yellow squash plant is producing a lot and the zucchini is from Mr. Summer's garden. We have lots of tomatoes but ours are not ripening yet. I went and bought myself all the supplies for the canning this week and I'm gonna give it a go this weekend! Pray for me! LOL

Well, here the progress on my Panes of Change afghan. I have finished through round 45 in this picture...

Panes of Change Afghan

I am making this afghan for my son.

It's called "Panes of Change" by Frank O'Randle. He has some very impressive, non-boring afghan patterns. His crochet story is interesting to read on his site! I suspect I will be making more of his afghans. This one is ALOT of color changes so that means lots of ends. The pattern is written very well and I haven't found a single error so far.

Sophie's CAL

One 24 hour period + is over. I slept terrible last night. I never sleep as well here plus I was coughing alot so I didn't get much sleep. Ugh....wish this would go away.

I finished up to Part 4 on both of my Sophie afghans Sophie's Universe CAL 2015 ⋆ Look At What I Made

This is such a fun project! I'm switching gears now. I've got 2 more days here with nothing better to do so I'm going to get some progress on my tablecloth done now.

I also need to spend some time planning what baby afghan I'm going to make for the new granddaughter coming in September!

Thread Table Cloth, Sophie's Universe CAL & Tulle Dress

This is a vintage pattern called "Lucky Star"...hope I can finish this!! Gulp...

It's going to need blocked.

Well, I also gave in and started on the Sophie's Universe CAL 2015 - Look At What I Made. Click name and it will take you to the link! If you like interesting projects, then this is for you! Not only did I start on one....I started on two! I have a whole bunch of various skeins of Red Heart type acrylic yarn in all kinds of colors that I don't really like to use much. When I buy yarn new I buy Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn acrylic yarn because its a lot softer but I can't pass up yarn at thrift stores, etc. so I end up with a collection of odd yarns! Anyway, I wanted to use up some of this so I started on this one first using bright orange and yellows.

It's kinda ugly though. For once, I think the colors actually look better in the picture that in real life.

So then I decided to start one and I let Alison help me with the colors. This is what she came up with...totally different! It's really pretty!

Next up is my crochet & tulle dress I finished!
