I tried to update my blog last night but Blogger was not cooperating.

This pattern makes a really pretty hat. You can get the free pattern here:

I made this hat up as I went along...

Why do I have garage sales?

My rant:

Just got finished and straightened out from a day having a garage sale. That's it for me. I made approximately $15. I found myself selling Alison's nice jeans she just outgrew for 50 cents each instead of the $1.00 I was asking...and on and on. It's just not worth it. We just got back from hauling everything that was left to Goodwill. That's what I should have done with it all to begin with and paid myself the $15 to mow my lawn like I needed to do today anyway!

End of Rant...

I did show my house today though...some people at the garage sale came and asked if we knew what the house next door were asking. I took them over and showed it to them and the guy really seemed to like it...not sure about the lady. They seemed like real nice people. I hope we get some nice people for our neighbors in here. Our neighbors are very dear to us. We will miss them all very much. We have another showing tomorrow afternoon. Boy, our new fence sure is nice...wish we would've done that sooner....

Alison in front of the FOR SALE sign!

Finished this baby bib:

Having to get creative to get my crochet projects organized so I can quickly put it away neatly if we get a call that the house is showing. We get a 30 minutes to an hour notice.

House for Sale

My sister and brother-in-law were in town this weekend and a big thanks for their help and to my brother-in-law for helping us get so much done in the back yard on Saturday! Today, Jeff replaced wood and painted the shed door, we moved the wood pile today and the rest of the little stuff that needed to be done. The photographer comes tomorrow to take photographs for the flyer and the carpet stretcher's come on Tuesday. The FOR SALE sign will go up in the yard tomorrow! We have garage sale stuff at one neighbor's house and scrap metal at another's! We have very good friends and neighbors and its sad to leave them but....here we go! Next big project is putting up the new fence.

Jeff is going on a job interview in the morning.

Wow, you know I guess we all need a little bit of trial in our lives to make us better. I'm just trying to keep a good attitude, not worry too much and learn whatever God wants us to learn from this season in our lives.

Finally finished the inside of my house

What seems like it would never come, has finally come. I have to say...the house looks very clean and de-cluttered. My son's room is cleared out and I painted it and we just finished cleaning all the carpet tonight. I mowed and cleaned up the front yard so everything looks great as long as you don't look in the garage or the back yard! LOL... We did start on the back yard tonight though. The trash men are going to hate us tomorrow when they come. We went through the yard and threw everything away that wasn't nailed down. I hope some of those people that come looking for scrap metal in people's trash come tonight! It might help the trash guys out a little. It will be about the 3rd time we've gone to bed praying that the trash guys take it all! So far they have... Tomorrow we'll finish up the back yard. The realtor comes tomorrow night for the second walk-through.

Made some more slippers but too tired to post pictures tonight.

Slipper-Rama

Well, at least slippers are quick projects that I can sit down and work on here and there in between packing and working on the house.

We spent a little bit of time with my oldest sister and her boyfriend who were in town this weekend. We didn't get to visit with them as much as we normally do when they come because of all we have going on right now. It's always nice to see them when they come. She bought slippers from me for her and her daughter. Snapped a picture of those before they took them:

Sold $160 worth of my crochet stuff!

We spent the weekend listening to the expository teaching of Pastor John Weaver. It was a great time. I set up a booth with my crochet slippers, hats, scarves for sale. I only had 3 customers but I sold a total of $160 worth of stuff! How exciting...I've never sold any of my stuff before! Yay!

My husband, Jeff, is still looking for a job and things are getting extremely tight and scary. We're going to start having to get selective about which bills to pay.
