I am finished with the squares and assembly but I still have to work on the back weaving in some ends. It's still not quite finished though. I still plan on adding some type of edging around it. I have to look around a little and try to find a nice pattern to edge it with.

We did it!

We bought our new Mountaineer Fifth Wheel today at Holiday World-Houston! We will be closing the deal and picking it up on June 8th. I'm really glad we waited to buy because they have come out with a newer model since we looked about 6 months ago that has an *ideal* floor plan for us....this one is by far the best we've seen so far since we have such specific things we wanted. We needed bunks for the kids which are hard to find in 5th wheels and a queen slide-out with a closet in the master bedroom. This plan has a private room for the kids with 3 bunks and a sofa. It's a 34' fifth wheel with 3 slides. There is a lot of storage and cabinet space. Boy, are we going to have fun with this!

For some reason I can't get the floor plan picture on my blog but here is a link for the floor plan:

Here is a site online that has a lot of pictures of the interior which is identical to the unit we bought.

We are now going to be selling the pop-up camper that we currently have. It is a Jayco Eagle 12ST and is a really nice pop-up camper with a shower and toilet in it. We have enjoyed using it but we want to be able to get up and go a little easier. My husband, Jeff, travels on business in Texas quite a lot and the kids and I like to go with him and often stay in the area over the weekends to camp.

My husband and I were talking about it tonight...we chose this over a 2nd vehicle. People spend this much on a vehicle all the time and we will probably never want to sell it. However, if we ever decide to sell it, it will hold its value much better than a car as long as we take care of it. We went ahead and spent the extra money for a permanent wax seal protectant for the exterior that makes it very easy to clean and keeps it from fading. They also put a protectant on all the materials inside and if there is ever a stain on any material surface including carpets that we can't get out with the cleaner included in the package, they will completely replace it for free for 5 years. We bought wheel covers and a special cover that has compartmental zippers on it so you can still get into it when it isn't being used.

I'm going to be soooo spoiled! I may even use it as a get-away at home! You may hear of me crocheting in my 5th wheel in my back yard!

Furry Flip Flops

I finally broke down and made some of these fuzzy flip flops. I wasn't so crazy about them but Alison wanted me to make some for her. Can't get much cheaper for shoes than these so what the hey? I bought the flip flops at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 a pair and used some of my fur yarn stash I already had. They are super easy to make for sure. They will be cute for Alison. Anything furry or sparkly is right up her alley!!

Tator Tot Casserole

I thought I'd post one of my favorite, easy recipes. It's a real kid pleaser at my house. Some kids might not like the mushrooms, but my daughter LOVES mushrooms and my son will eat just about anything! LOL

Tator Tot Casserole

2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1 lb hamburger meat (I never even use that much)
1 Lg. bag of Tator Tots
Grated Cheese

Brown ground meat.
Dump in can of mushrooms and 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup.
Mix it up.

Line bottom of 9x13 casserole dish with tator tots (1/2 of bag)
(I like to buy the giant bags so I can load it up, which is more than 1/2 a bag of the regular size bags)
Dump the soup/mushroom mixture on top of tator tots and spread evenly
Top with grated cheese
Put the remainder of tator tots on top (or do like I do and cover it!)

Bake 350 about 30 minutes or until you see the tator tots are nicely browned.

YUM!!

Worked on my blog today

You might have noticed that I added some new buttons for crochet forums. I just found these 2 crochet forums... Crochetmania and Simply Crochet . Haven't spent too much time there yet. In my opinion, it's going to be hard to beat Crochetville for me! Only time will tell....

I also added links for some other crochet blogs that I've discovered. I enjoy reading and seeing other people's work and ideas. Rest assured all of you non-crocheters reading this....I do not have some isolate disease with my crochet enthusiam!! LOL! Although, if I didn't have this magical thing calle the internet, I might feel a little more strange! Anyway...go check them out when you get a chance!

What I've been up to....

Hello friends!
Sorry it has been a little bit since I've posted an entry. What have I been up to? In my last post I mentioned I was getting back to my King Sized Afghan project. That's exactly what I have been up to! I have all the squares I had made assembled and put together but I decided to make it a bit larger so I've been back to making more squares. Here is a sampling of a few I have made.... I will post pictures of the rest tomorrow!

Also, I'd like to thank all of you who read my blog and leave me comments. I LOVE hearing from you all! Also, it helps me locate some other great craft and crochet blogs to visit as well!

I had to get out today with my son to take him to a doctor's appointment so while we were out, he wanted to stop at Hobby Lobby and get some craft sticks. Turns out they had 10 or so bins of craft/pattern books on clearance so of course, I had to look through them! I also bought a little Cindy doll to crochet clothes for. Also found a few skeins of yarn on the clearance rack! Yippee! Here's my finds:
