Steak & Cheese Sandwiches
Labels: recipes 0 commentsWe didn't do much relaxing. The day went as usual except we did go to a small town fireworks show last night. It seemed like everyone from the surrounding three towns were ALL there! There was a huge amount of people lining the highway and all the streets for miles. Didn't know there were that many people out here! LOL ... Anyway, it was a pretty impressive fireworks show for such a small town. We just pulled over on the side of the road and got out our lawn chairs like everyone else.
I tried a new recipe tonight and it was a hit with the family. Easy to make and cost me about $7.00 to feed the whole family of 4 with this.
Steak & Cheese Sandwiches
1 lb. round steak, sliced thin (or whatever is on sale)
1 sliced onion
1 can sliced mushrooms
2 TBSP worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 beef bullion cube
Hoagie rolls
Slice steak into think strips and brown in skillet. Add 1 beef bullion cube. Add onion and mushrooms and cook until soft. Add worcestershire, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Simmer as a long as possible. Serve on mayonaissed hoagie rolls with cheese (I used monterrey Jack tonight)
