Not sure if I like having this rainy day off...
2 commentsWe had to shut down rides at the stables today because of the mud and rain. We have stayed open through the rain before but the ground still wasn't saturated so it wasn't so muddy. It's been raining so much that it is very muddy...too much mud makes for dangerous conditions for the horses and the riders. So I'm home today but I'm feeling rather blue. This is a day I'd rather be busy to keep my mind off my troubles. I have several loads of clothes I could wash but there's no gas in the truck. I need to wait for Jeff to get back with the car to start that. He ran to town to deposit some money and talk to some people. Alison has gone to babysit at the visitor's center for a few hours.
I have been praying for God to give me some ray of hope soon. Things are puttering along like normal and even though Jeff has picked up some work here and there, I'm not sure we can live on that alone right now. Alison was encouraging me this morning...she said, "Mama...we aren't going to starve or anything." Well, she's right about that! We AREN"T going to starve! I've been praying for some direction...should we stay here? Should we leave? Where would we go? I don't think we are supposed to leave but I think we may get our answer by the end of September.
There may be something peaking its nose through though....I won't be saying what that is unless it actually works out. It might be the perfect solution for us after the summer is over. It would have benefits for every member of the family...we'll all learn a whole lot, get to work hard, have a place to live, get to grow our character and maybe grow a garden too.

You are the first blog I read every day; I am in a similar situation as far as my husband's job (or lack of one) and I take strength from your words. I sincerely hope that what you hope to happen by the end of September actually does come to pass. You are doing such an amazing job and should be rewarded for your efforts. My prayers are with you most everyday; keep up the great work!

You know I'm praying that it all works out for you, Lisa. You are doing a fine job with your family through this crisis. You know what they say, "That which does not kill you makes you stronger" and I can see from reading through your posts, your family is getting stronger every day.
