We went to the astronomy exhibit at the park last night. It was a beautiful starry night and it was really neat. We saw Saturn and its many moons. We saw Dumb Bell nebula and Hercules constellation. The group is hobbyist astronomists who bring their high powered, fancy telescopes into the park and allow guests to come and look. They spend the whole night out there after people are gone taking images.
Jeff spent his morning in "cowboy training" at the stables. The kids and I slept in. Then we did our weekly duty driving to town for groceries.
Alison and I walked around by the river tonight to look for rocks for her rock painting. My hands hurt from carrying that heavy bag all the way back. It's too bad all of our craft supplies, paints, etc. are in storage in Houston or we could really get creative with the rocks. We've always kept lots of craft supplies on hand for spontaneous creativity.
This week my goal is to enjoy some little things and not take for granted what I have around me....maybe bake some cookies with Alison or get a blanket and lay back and watch for shooting stars....something you couldn't do in Houston because you couldn't see the stars! We'll see if I succeed!
