I really miss my mother....

It always catches me off guard at the strangest times that my eyes will tear up because I suddenly think of my mom. Mainly I remember her and miss her before the Alzheimer got the best of her. I used to talk to my mom on the phone all the time. I sure wish I could pick up the phone and call her now. It's been 7 months and 3 days now. Now, I'm I better stop before I have to go to work with puffy eyes.....

What next?

This past March it was four years since my mother passed and there are days it feels like yesterday. I think I know what you're feeling. However, coming from a person who reads your blog everyday, and sometimes comments, she made you into a pretty amazing woman to be able to keep your family together and happy in good times and bad. I am sure she's looking down on you with pride; I don't even know you and I feel happy for your accomplishments (crochet related or not)!

My mother is five years gone come November. I know what you mean about it hitting you when you least expect it. About six months after my mom passed my dad came to my house with six HUGE boxes of food, all from his cabinets at home. He had to sell his house to pay for mom's medical expenses. I had a real sense of dread about those boxes, but we had two dogs and I couldn't leave six boxes of food around. After Dad left, I set in. My poor husband, I cried and cried. He couldn't figure it out, it was food, spices, condiments, and I was bawling. But, they were her things, lots of things I don't usually buy. Every item I touched reminded me of her. You just never know, but hang in there, it is all part of the process, and you will be able to think about her with nothing but smiles soon enough :))

What a kind thing to say! Thank you very much. I don't always feel so happy but you have to just keep putting one foot in front of the other!
