Cucumbers & Rain

Jeff and Alison love the cucumbers. I like them but they aren't "crispy" like I would like them to be. It might be because these cucumbers were a little bit rubbery when I cut them. I'll try again when I get more cucumbers.

We got rained out at the stables today so I didn't have to work. Jeff and Michael cleaned a cabin and I did laundry. We drove into the little local town to see if the dentist was open. Wrong day...they are only open on Wednesday and Thursday. Then, we popped into the thrift store, the library where we found out they won't give us a library card! LOL Then we went to the Farm and Ranch Store where they sell boots. Jeff is hoping to get some work boots soon. His shoe soles are coming off and they are really getting a work-out on his jobs he's been doing. And now...I'm still doing laundry. Hopefully the sun will come out tomorrow! The park really isn't that full even though its a holiday...amazing but I guess the weather scared people away!

What next?

Hi again! I noticed in the photo that those cukes were waaaaaaay over ripe. Big and bulbous and starting to yellow. Were the seeds big and tough also?

Smaller cukies work better if your really craving and need 'em fast buy the long skinny English or "Burpless" cukies. The have no seeds, are never bitter and always crunchy. Don't really need to peel either as the skins are usually tender. Enjoy! Crunch crunch!

Yes, these cucumbers were given to me from someone's garden. I wanted to do something with them so they didn't go to waste. They did have some big seeds in them. I think that is why they didn't turn out too crunchy. I'm actually not too much on cucumbers myself but my hubby loved them in the vinegar and they are aalready just about gone!
