Crochet Me Crazy

I'm so tired...long day at the stables today. I'm just going to forget the messes and the laundry today. Jeff thought about sleeping in a little bit this morning after finishing the stair job but he ended up getting up early to go in and help saddle horses this morning. It's a good thing he did because their head wrangler ended up leaving today because he is sick. He has some health problems he's dealing with so he left to go stay with family and rest. He says it will be a week but I have a feeling it will turn into longer. Jeff was there all day to pick up the slack and even Alison was helping today riding in the lead. We're cutting back the number of horses we take at one ride for now. I get off at 4:00 but Jeff and Alison stayed. Alison was going on the last small ride and Jeff was going to start unsaddling the unused horses after they left so they didn't get home until after 7pm. We ate and now Jeff and Michael are out in the park helping at the gate and its almost 10 o'clock at night.

Alison learned one of those lessons with a horse you don't forget today. She got to spend some time with her girl, Princess. She was holding her out of the pen and she let her reigns hang to low. (She wasn't on her) Princess somehow got her foot on the reign and Alison lost the reigns. Then Princess jerked her foot and the reign wrapped around her leg a little bit and Princess started panicking. She was jumping around so Alison just had to get out of the way. Mrs. Stable was out there so she was able to get her calmed down enough to get the reigns. Princess is a young horse...only about 3 years old so she's not as seasoned as some of the other horses. Alison has got quite a bond with her though. Princess knows her and comes to her when she sees her. She got to brush her today.
